Indigenous Studies Course Instructor Position

Join the University of Winnipeg as an Instructor for the Pathways Indigenous Wisdom course. This Contract Academic Staff role runs from August 17, 2026, to May 14, 2027.

The University is seeking experienced educators passionate about Indigenous Studies for these contract positions. This opportunity involves teaching a total of 22 classes throughout the academic year with classes scheduled for Wednesday evenings. Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in a related field and may receive priority if they have taught at post-secondary institutions before.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruct IS- with a focus on Indigenous Wisdom

• Conduct classes every Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

• Manage a class of approximately 20 students

• Develop course materials and assessments

• Collaborate with faculty members in course planning

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline required

• Experience teaching at college/university level preferred

• Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment

• Strong organizational and teaching skills

• Willingness to support equity and inclusion efforts
