Expected total hours:

Appointment Pay Rate: $124.73 per student enrolled at the close of registration revision period

Key responsibilities:
  • Preparing instructional materials relevant to the course being taught.
  • Instructing/teaching.
  • Marking/grading of exams and assignments online etc.
  • Providing constructive feedback to students.
  • Monitoring and participating in discussion forums online.
  • Frequently interacting with students online.
Qualifications:
  • Master's, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language required.
  • Background/specialization in subject area required.
  • Demonstrated competence in post-secondary teaching required. Instructional experience in E-learning or online teaching preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills using computers, mobile devices, virtual classroom software.
  • Empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students learning at a distance is required.
  • Previous teaching in the subject area or related area would be an asset.

Additional information:

This posting is for six online student instructor positions for the Distance Delivery BSW Program. The total expected hours per course is 108 (0-20 hours per week). Preference may be given to applicants who are, or will be, a registered student studying in the faculty which is posting the employment opportunity at the time that the duties of the position commence.
