The Fashion Design Instructor role is a part time, on-site position based at the MC College campus in Winnipeg, MB. The instructor will deliver fashion design curriculum through classroom teaching, studio-based demonstrations, and practical projects that cover key areas such as design principles, garment construction, textiles, pattern making, and fashion illustration. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, developing learning materials, assessing student work, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.

The instructor will support student success by mentoring learners, monitoring progress, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure program quality and alignment with industry standards. Additional duties may include participating in curriculum updates, attending faculty meetings, contributing to college events, and maintaining current knowledge of fashion industry trends and technologies.

• Ability to apply Design Thinking to fashion projects and studio work, guiding students through creative problem-solving processes.
• Experience in Curriculum Development and Instructional Design to create, refine, and deliver effective fashion design learning experiences.
• Demonstrated Teaching and Training skills in a post-secondary or vocational setting, with a focus on hands‑on fashion instruction.
• Strong knowledge of fashion design, garment construction, textiles, and pattern drafting, with industry experience in fashion or related fields.
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and mentoring abilities, with a commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful learning environment.
• Post‑secondary education in Fashion Design or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience and credentials will be considered.
• Proficiency with relevant design tools and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CAD for fashion) and willingness to stay current with industry practices.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple classes, projects, and assessments, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and administration.
