Philosophy Instructor Contract Position

The University of Winnipeg invites applications for a Contract Academic Staff position teaching Philosophy. This role covers the course 'Plato and Before', held Fridays, involving 12 classes from January to April 2027.

The Faculty of Arts is seeking qualified instructors for the Winter PHIL- course. Candidates should have a Master's degree in Philosophy or a related field, with a projected enrollment of 15 students. This position is contract-based from December 4, 2026, to May 14, 2027, subject to enrollment and budget approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach 12 classes from January to April 2027

• Facilitate engaging discussions on Plato and related topics

• Prepare and deliver course materials and assessments

• Communicate effectively with students and faculty

• Maintain academic standards and student engagement

Requirements:

• MA in Philosophy or related field

• Teaching experience in Philosophy preferred

• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

• Ability to manage a classroom of 15 students

• Availability Fridays from 2:30 PM to 5:15 PM
