Winter Contract Philosophy Academic Staff

The University of Winnipeg seeks a Contract Academic Staff member for a Philosophy course this Winter. This position focuses on 'Plato and Before', with classes scheduled for Fridays in early 2027.

The Faculty of Arts is welcoming applications for the PHIL- course. Candidates must have a Master's in Philosophy or a related field, facilitating a class of up to 15 students over 12 sessions. The contract spans from December 4, 2026, to May 14, 2027, and is contingent on student enrollment and budget approval.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct 12 classes addressing topics on Plato

• Prepare instructional materials and assessments

• Encourage interactive philosophical discussions

• Interact effectively with students to enhance learning

• Uphold academic standards during the course

Requirements:

• MA in Philosophy or relevant field required

• Teaching experience in higher education preferred

• Commitment to diversity and equity in education

• Class availability every Friday from 2:30 PM to 5:15 PM

• Subject to sufficient enrollment for course offering
