Book Clubs for Inmates is recruiting volunteer facilitators to lead discussions at Stony Mountain Institution in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This ongoing opportunity invites you to guide participants through carefully selected texts, promoting critical thinking and resilience. A minimum of two years of commitment is required as you help create a supportive community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate monthly book discussions with another volunteer
• Encourage thought-provoking and inclusive exchanges
• Ensure all group members feel valued and heard
• Collaborate with staff and fellow volunteers for smooth operations
• Attend orientation and comply with security procedures
Requirements:
• University education or similar experience
• Ability to pass a criminal record check
• Strong communication and listening abilities
• Dependable and emotionally mature
• Passionate about literature and discussion
