Assistant Curator Position at VAC

Located in Bowmanville, Ontario, the VAC is seeking an organized and energetic Assistant Curator to collaborate on  exhibition development. This opportunity is tailored for individuals with a background in Art History or Visual Studies, providing a platform for hands-on learning in curatorial tasks, community outreach, and public programming. You will play a key role in animating the gallery space and enhancing visitor engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with the Curator to build exhibition programs

• Develop curatorial plans for ancillary exhibition spaces

• Oversee installation logistics for each exhibition

• Create research material for educational staff

• Guide gallery tours and engage with visitors

Requirements:

• Post-secondary graduate in Art-related fields

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills

• Proven ability to organize and research effectively

• Skills in teamwork and independent work

• Proficiency in standard office software tools
