Position: Teaching Assistant for Sociology Course SOC 3700
Contribute to academic success as a Teaching Assistant for the Sociology of Law course SOC 3700 at the University of Manitoba. Guide students through their learning path by providing instructional support.

This is a part-time role within the Department of Sociology commencing in January 2027. As a Teaching Assistant, you will engage in instructional planning, prepare course materials, and assess student performance. Strong communication and a proactive approach to student concerns are essential traits for this position to ensure effective learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and present educational materials for tutorials

• Participate in course meetings with faculty and teaching staff

• Assess and grade student work, including exams

• Schedule and maintain consultation hours for student support

• Assist in creating multimedia content for lessons

Requirements:

• Completed studies relevant to sociology or education

• Experience in tutoring or instructional roles is an asset

• Strong communication skills in English

• Empathetic approach to the diverse needs of students

• Valid study permit required for international applicants
