Manage a school library with cataloguing expertise and student support at Ralph Maybank School in Winnipeg. Work hours are 3.5 daily or seven alternating days.
Pembina Trails School Division seeks a Certified Library Technician to manage daily library operations under the Principal’s supervision. Collaborate with the Teacher-Librarian on instruction, acquisitions, resource selection, and collection maintenance. Apply international library standards, Dewey classification, and Sears Subject Headings while supporting students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide bibliographic instruction for print and online resources
- Process, catalogue, shelve, repair, and inventory library resources
- Operate circulation systems and maintain complete circulation files
- Prepare purchase orders and maintain delegated budget records
- Monitor library activities and coordinate volunteers and student helpers
- Certified Library Technician qualification
- Understanding of established and emerging international library standards
- Knowledge of Dewey and Sears Subject Heading requirements
- Ability to use specific library tools and systems
- Availability for stated daily or alternating-day hours
