Position: Occupational Health Coordinator (Nights)

The Opportunity:

The Occupational Health Coordinator/Nurse works closely with Managers, Supervisors and individual employees to promote occupational health, safety and environmental compliance in the plant.

Coordinates training, communications, involvement and accountability – supporting accident prevention and compliance programs. This position is accountable for ensuring compliance with all health and safety, food safety and HACCP regulations and procedures

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

WCB, STD, and LTD claims management.

Provide on-site direct health care plans to the employees.

Treatment of occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses.

Participates in the Occupational Health maintenance program through various activities.

Participate in programs such as blood pressure clinics, flu clinics, first aid and CPR training.

Teaching and encouraging employees to practice healthy lifestyles.

Promoting a safe and healthy work environment.

Referrals to employee assistance providers as necessary.

What You’ll Bring:

Registered Nurse, licensed practical nurse, or first responder.

Maintian a safe and clean working environment.

Educating employees about preventative care and prescribed treatments.

Experience in WCB, STD and LTD claims management an asset

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organization skills

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with Union and Management.

Strong computer skills.

Able to thrive in a Company committed to high standards of safety.
