Location: Winkler

The City of Winkler is looking for energetic and positive people to join our seasonal facilities maintenance team!

What You’ll Do:

You will work together with the rest of the Planning & Engineering team to provide technical assistance for surveying and AutoCAD/GIS for capital projects, lot grading, infrastructure data collection, and support programs particularly relating to the Planning & Permitting and Engineering Services Departments.

Duties may include but not be limited to:
  • Assist with field surveys and data collection on various City projects.
  • Infrastructure data entry into GIS system.
  • Produce Autodesk Civil3D drawings and schematics for our Planning and Engineering Department.
  • Assist with maintenance of engineering plans and records.
  • Conduct survey stakeout and inspection of lot grading plans.
  • Assist in sample collection.
  • Perform other related duties as requested and assist with the general operation of the Planning and Engineering office.
What You’ll Bring :

A positive and dedicated attitude with great team spirit and self-motivation. You will also bring skills in organization, and communication.

Qualifications You’ll Need:
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are currently in the process of earning an engineering degree or completing a technical program.
  • Proficient with computers and software, including Windows Operating Systems and Autodesk Civil3D.
  • Experience with survey equipment such as G.P.S. and laser level.
  • Physically capable of performing the duties required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Manitoba Provincial driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relations with staff and the public.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to coordinate construction projects.
  • Problem solving/decision making skills.
  • Able to take initiative and be innovative.
