Your Opportunity

There is an exciting opportunity for a unique position as a Junior Field Services Coordinator to manage the construction observation of various municipal construction projects in Manitoba and Northwest Ontario.

This is a relatively autonomous position and will include providing technical direction and guidance as well as identifying value-added opportunities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Regularly conduct on-site project check-ins to determine proper adherence to contract documents.

  • Understand and direct the contractor on requirements and details of contract drawings and specifications.

  • Confirm quantities, prepare daily progress reports, and maintain written and photographic documentation and records.

  • Participate in construction progress meetings.

  • Communicate with contractors, field staff, owners, members of the public and other stakeholders.

  • Identify and act on contractual or regulatory infractions.

  • Certify compliance with contract standards / specifications.

  • Resolution of construction issues with the assistance of the Contract Administrator / Project Manager.

  • Education and Experience

  • Civil or Construction Engineering Technology / Technician diploma with a minimum of 2 years preferred

  • Relevant construction inspection experience in Manitoba would be considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of standard engineering and construction principles, practices, and techniques is required.

  • Knowledge of construction products, materials, and equipment is required.

  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and regulations for construction projects. Is required.

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications is required.

  • Field work will include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

    Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
