Reporting To: Research & Development Engineering Lead, Control & Automation

Position Overview

Price Industries is seeking a Control and Automation Student to support laboratory operations and R&D testing initiatives. This role will assist with instrumentation calibration, test setup, data acquisition, and automation related projects within the HVAC research laboratory. The position provides hands on exposure to automation systems, testing infrastructure, and engineering development activities while supporting the R&D team in maintaining efficient and accurate testing environments.

Successful Candidate's Responsibilities Will Include
  • Assist with setting up and dismantling performance tests for HVAC products
  • Analyze test data and assist with identifying potential design improvements
  • Support engineering teams with test execution and field support testing
  • Maintain and calibrate testing instruments for pressure, airflow, and temperature measurements
  • Design and build custom test fixtures for R&D projects
  • Research and apply industry testing standards to laboratory experiments
  • Develop and document laboratory procedures to standardize testing workflows
  • Assist with upgrades to laboratory infrastructure and data acquisition systems
  • Troubleshoot testing anomalies and support test system improvements
  • Generate catalogue performance data and support reporting activities
The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have
  • Foundational knowledge of control and automation principles
  • Understanding of HVAC variables such as airflow, velocity, humidity, and power
  • Basic familiarity with LabVIEW for data acquisition and instrumentation control
  • Ability to interpret technical standards and documentation
  • Hands on experience using tools and building test setups is an asset
  • Self motivated with the ability to take initiative
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative and able to communicate effectively with team members
  • Adaptable to changing priorities within a research environment
  • Interest in automation systems and engineering development
Education

Currently enrolled in a Control and Automation Engineering or Technology program
