- Design of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering work on projects of small to medium sizes.
- Be responsible for budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Assume full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.
- Act independently on technical matters in the civil/environmental engineering field.
- Carry out complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques, procedures, equipment, material, process, or method.
- Assist in proposal preparation and interviews and may participate in contract negotiations with clients after selection.
- Develop relationships with existing clients and maintain client relationships at staff level on existing projects.
- Work closely with subconsultants on projects.
- Be active in skilled associations, including attendance at local, regional, and national conventions.
- Travel when requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 10–15 years of water and/or wastewater design experience in consulting engineering with emphasis in hydraulics, physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes and plant design.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
- Demonstrated experience managing and designing medium‑sized projects with responsibility for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
- Experience designing water and/or wastewater treatment plants, including development of conceptual and preliminary designs and detailed design document preparation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and the project team.
- Deliver high‑quality services within budget and schedule constraints.
- Experience with water and wastewater collection systems and water and reclaimed water transmission/distribution projects is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a similar field.
$100,000 to $200,000 annually. This range represents the lowest to highest salary that the company believes it would pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual salary may be higher or lower and may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the range will be based on factors including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
