Join KCB as a Senior Hydrotechnical Engineer to tackle complex mining challenges while making a positive environmental impact. Based in Vancouver, Toronto, Sudbury or Fredericton, collaborate with a skilled team on innovative projects.
This role emphasizes the application of critical thinking to manage mine waste and water as part of our Mining Environmental Group. You will leverage advanced software tools such as Gold Sim, HEC-RAS, and Flow-2D/3D to design hydrotechnical components for global mining initiatives. As a seasoned engineer, you will also mentor junior staff while fostering long‑term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:- Design mine water balance and quality models using Gold Sim
- Lead risk assessments and Dam Safety Reviews
- Collaborate on environmentally focused field programs
- Guide less experienced engineers in design methodologies
- Build rapport with clients throughout project life cycles
- Civil Engineering degree;
Master's preferred - 10+ years of design experience in mining
- Eligible for skilled engineer registration
- Proficiency in hydrotechnical design analyses
- Solid communication and mentoring skills
