Mechanical Engineer in Steelmaking

Elevate plant operations at Alta Steel as a Mechanical Engineer supporting the Steelmaking Maintenance team. This full-time role emphasizes engineering problem-solving and safety protocols to enhance industrial efficiency.

As a vital member of the Steelmaking Maintenance team, you will report to the Manager and work on key engineering projects. Required qualifications include a Mechanical Engineering degree, valid APEGA registration, and at least 5 years in a heavy industrial context. You will ensure safety compliance and foster continuous improvement across operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Promote safety and compliance across engineering functions

• Initiate critical projects aligned with operations needs

• Supervise personnel to meet safety and quality benchmarks

• Assist with maintenance and operational troubleshooting

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from APEGA accredited institution

• Valid APEGA Eng Designation with 5 years of experience

• Experience in a heavy industrial setting
