About the Role
Starc automation is an industrial automation company specializing in robotics, PLC/HMI programming, and system integration for manufacturing. It delivers customized solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and operational performance based in London, Ontario. We are growing our technical team and are looking for a skilled Robotics Technologist to support the design, programming, maintenance, and optimization of our robotic and automated systems.
What You’ll Do- Program and commission industrial robots (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, UR, or equivalent platforms).
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs to integrate robotic cells with production equipment.
- Perform scheduled and corrective maintenance on robotic systems, end-of-arm tooling, conveyors, and automation equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and robot datasheets.
- Conduct systematic fault diagnosis and root cause analysis on automation failures.
- Work with engineering teams to improve cycle times, uptime, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, calibration records, and equipment documentation.
- Commission recent robotic cells and support automation capital projects.
- Provide technical training to operators on robotic system use and basic troubleshooting.
College diploma in Robotics Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related technical field OR equivalent hands‑on industry experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with industrial robots and automated systems in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficiency with PLC programming (Allen Bradley RSLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or equivalent).
- Hands‑on experience with robot programming in at least one manufacturer's language (FANUC TP, ABB RAPID, KUKA KRL, UR Script).
- Solid understanding of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Working knowledge of industrial robot safety standards.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Able to read technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Effective communicator in English, verbal and written.
- Experience with machine vision systems or servo drive configuration.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or CAD‑based design tools.
- Pay: $28.00-$37.00 per hour
