Transportation Planning Engineer – Project Manager (On‑site, Winnipeg)
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced transportation planning engineer to manage and lead projects across Canada, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and delivering data‑driven solutions that improve safety and connectivity.
Responsibilities- Collaborate on projects from data collection and analysis to reporting and supporting technical tasks in‑field and in‑office.
- Apply best practices, identify innovative solutions, and conduct active transportation master planning and design assignments, engineering analyses, and studies for multi‑modal transportation, transit, and traffic projects.
- Develop progressive experience in project management and coordination, preparing for future leadership opportunities.
- Work with a multi‑disciplinary team, including transportation/traffic engineers, planners, designers, and landscape architects.
- Prepare and oversee technical memos and reports to communicate results and recommendations that influence project decisions.
- Engage with clients and communities through meetings and public consultations.
- Passion for transportation and designing multi‑modal solutions that improve safety and connectivity.
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Transportation Engineering and a P.Eng license.
- 5–8+ years of experience in transportation engineering and planning, including transportation impact assessments, active transportation infrastructure design, and project management.
- Proficiency in transportation software and methods (e.g., Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, Sidra, VISSIM, VISTRO, Aimsun) and strong technical writing skills.
- Experience in traffic operations and site analysis, with the ability to deliver innovative, data‑driven solutions.
- Collaborative mindset and leadership skills to manage projects and client relationships effectively.
This position is on‑site in Winnipeg and is not remote. We welcome applicants from Canada and the United States and offer relocation assistance.
CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YK: $104,100 – $138,000
MB & ON: $95,000 – $130,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $94,100 – $124,900
