This role offers valuable, hands-on experience in equipment operations and maintenance over a six-month contract.
The Township of St. Clair is looking for two motivated individuals to fill Temporary Operator-in-Training positions within the Public Works Operations Department. You will carry out operational tasks and maintenance under the guidance of the Crew Leader. Preparedness for fieldwork and equipment operation is essential for effectively enhancing the township’s water and wastewater assets.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain critical water/wastewater assets
• Support manual labor and equipment operation tasks
• Perform necessary maintenance and repairs
• Work closely with the Crew Leader on daily tasks
• Conduct routine inspections of municipal assets
Requirements:
• Grade 12 diploma with a Class D-Z Ontario license
• OIT certificate required;
Class I or II certification preferred
• Experience with water/wastewater systems preferable
• Strong communication abilities
• Mechanical aptitude and computer literacy skills
