Electrical Planning Engineer

Join our Distribution Engineering Department in Winnipeg as a Planning Engineer specializing in electrical systems. You'll perform crucial planning studies, ensuring robust distribution system operations.

As a Planning Engineer, you will work under the direction of the Planning Team Lead, focusing on distribution substations and feeders. You'll be responsible for analyzing system capacity and preparing detailed planning reports with actionable recommendations, ensuring safety and reliability. Engage with various departments to address infrastructure concerns while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate planning studies for distribution substations and feeders

• Collaborate with Asset Lifecycle Management for redevelopment proposals

• Consult on major customer load additions

• Prepare Capital Budget Single Line diagrams

• Mentor junior staff during planning studies

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with six years of experience

• Professional member with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba

• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems

• Understanding of 66kV and below standards

• Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's Licence
