Join Nova Scotia Health as a 4th Class Chief Power Engineer for the South Shore Regional Hospital. Focus on the operation and maintenance of vital equipment in healthcare facilities.
This permanent role reports to the Assistant Manager of Maintenance & Operations. The Chief Power Engineer is accountable for the reliable operation of boiler and chiller plants, supervising a team while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication with trades and contractors are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the safe operation of plant equipment and systems
• Oversee inspections and equipment certifications
• Liaise with trades and contractors for repairs and upgrades
• Supervise staff and train junior engineers
• Ensure compliance with maintenance legislation and standards
Requirements:
• Minimum one year experience in healthcare settings
• Skilled in operation of relevant equipment
• Access to reliable transportation for potential travel
• Proficiency in languages, particularly French, is a plus
• Committed to a full-time work schedule
