OpportunityWe are seeking an Intermediate Hydrotechnical Engineer to join our Markham office, with consideration for other Ontario locations. You will be part of the Water Resources Technical Team within Stantec’s Environmental Services Business Line.
Key Responsibilities- Develop hydrodynamic models using tools such as MIKE 3, MIKE 21, and Telemac to support coastal and river engineering projects, including environmental impact assessments, remedial designs, and risk evaluations
- Apply a strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles, with proficiency in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and PCSWMM
- Prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical findings, and interpretations
- Support proposal development and assist in creating work plans, project schedules, and budgets, while managing assigned projects and tasks
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a cohesive and productive work environment
- Demonstrate a solid understanding and consistent application of industry standards, guidelines, and regulatory frameworks
- Perform primarily office-based work, involving extended periods of computer use and data analysis
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Ability to deliver high-quality, organized, and consistent results

Graduate degree in Engineering with a focus on hydrodynamics, water resources, or hydrology.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in consulting or regulatory environments.
Mining experience is an asset, specifically mine water balances and mine water management.
Regular use of hydrodynamic modeling tools.
Professional registration with PEO or PGO eligibility to obtain P.Eng. or P.Geo.
