Manitoba Hydro is seeking a Capacity Operations Studies Engineer committed to resource adequacy in energy planning. You will support mid-term capacity planning, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate outages. Your expertise will directly impact the reliability of our hydroelectric operations through comprehensive engagement with various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support mid-term capacity planning framework and reporting
• Prepare analysis for reliable accredited capacity resources
• Coordinate outage schedules and placeholders efficiently
• Conduct probabilistic modeling for supply/demand balance
• Assess impacts of new resources on operations planning
Requirements:
• Graduate in Engineering with six years of experience
• Direct experience in hydroelectric utility operations required
• Professional member of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba preferred
• Strong skills in statistical analysis and computer programming
• Willingness to engage in formal training sessions
