Stantec is currently seeking a talented and dedicated Transportation Project Manager to complement and grow our skilled Transportation Team in our Winnipeg, Manitoba office. The opportunity could also be located in our Regina or Saskatoon, Saskatchewan offices, supporting the broader regional team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work in a team environment and wants to be involved in exciting local, regional, national and international projects.

Reporting to the Traffic Engineering and Transportation Planning Team Lead, you will assist in the pursuit of and be responsible for project management of transportation planning and traffic engineering projects.

Opportunity provides for a hybrid work environment. In office presence is expectedbased on project needs, client meetings, and team collaboration.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an integral member of the Transportation Team responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Preparing and managing project budgets, forecasts, work plans, and schedules.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients.
  • Consulting with agencies, stakeholders, Indigenous communities, and public.
  • Overseeing quality control of project deliverables.
  • Assist in staff development and mentoring of an established yet developing regional practice including mentorship of engineering and technical staff.
  • Proactively look for ways to improve project delivery, quality, and efficiency.
  • Supporting business development and proposal preparation.
  • Promote our strong safety culture, ensure this is at the forefront of our business, and lead by example
Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated ability as a project manager of transportation projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of City of Winnipeg and MTI polices, standards, and specifications.
  • Ability to manage transportation staff in successful delivery of projects.
  • Experience with business development and proposal preparation.
  • Participates and collaborates in project team settings and engages in creative and critical thought strong leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft suite of Office 365 products.
  • Knowledge of Manitoba transportation markets and processes, with strong past client relationships is an asset.
  • Experience in stakeholder and Indigenous engagement is an asset.
  • Experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering is an asset.

Education and Experience

  • Professional registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
  • Professional registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists Saskatchewan is an asset.
  • Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in the transportation engineering industry specifically related to project management.
