PRIMARY PURPOSE
PRIMARY PURPOSE To provide fundamental Engineering principles and methods to provide forensic structural and building damage assessments to determine the origin and cause of failure / damage for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings and sites, etc. Further using recognized design principles complete design of structural restoration and repair works including reconstruction design (including building permits) following a fire, and foundation underpinning related to oil spill remediation under a building, snow load and or roof failures, and cost estimations through repair scope development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS And RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS And RESPONSIBILITIES Inspects buildings and sites as prescribed by company policy and industry standards
Documents existing site conditions using scaled sketches and/or diagrams, measurements, collection of evidence, and photographic documentation, as appropriate
Utilizes appropriate engineering survey, monitoring, and measuring equipment
Utilizes appropriate interview skills and techniques with points of contact and/or interested parties to obtain background / historical information
Researches a variety of technical issues including building codes, standards, technical papers, textbooks, design manuals, handbooks, best practice guides, internet, etc.
Analyzes available data, develops conclusions, and drafts technical reports
