Informed Gambling Advisor

Location:

On‑site, McPhillips Station Casino & Club Regent Casino, Winnipeg.

Are you seeking to work a few hours a week in a position where you can use your strong customer service background, verbal communication and interpersonal skills? Do you have experience working with a vulnerable population?

Our team and what we’ll accomplish together

This role is part of TELUS Health’s partnership with McPhillips Station Casino and Club Regent Casino to operate the Responsible Gaming Information Centre. The team responds to guests’ inquiries on safe play, educates guests on responsible gambling, shares information and resources, and ensures a positive play experience.

How you will make an impact
  • Educate the public on healthy gambling practices and explain how games operate, providing information on community resources when needed.
  • Assess visitor needs to determine appropriate actions.
  • Plan intervention strategies for guests exhibiting problem gambling behaviors by consulting with casino staff and other professionals.
  • Offer support and guidance to individuals who wish to enroll in the casino’s voluntary self‑exclusion program.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of a resource library of gambling‑related material by researching and sourcing current community resources.
What you bring
  • Completed post‑secondary education in social services/human services or equivalent work‑related experience.
  • At least two years of customer service experience.
  • Prior experience interacting with a vulnerable population.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work independently.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic Excel.
  • Flexible availability to accommodate shifts from 2 pm to 10 am, seven days a week.
