About Tech Manitoba

Tech Manitoba (the Information and Communication Technologies Association of Manitoba) champions and connects Manitoba's technology sector. Through flagship events like MB Tech Week and Ignition, we bring together members, partners, and the broader community to grow the province's tech ecosystem.

About the Role

We're looking for an organized, detail-driven Events Manager to plan and deliver Tech Manitoba's event portfolio. You'll own the logistics of our signature events from concept to wrap-up, support our sponsors and partners, and help make every Tech Manitoba event run smoothly. This role reports to Tech Manitoba's Executive Director.

What You'll Do

Plan and execute Tech Manitoba's events, including MB Tech Week, Ignition, Manitoba Women in Tech programming (delivered in collaboration with North Forge and New Media Manitoba), and community programs.

  • Manage event budgets, timelines, vendors, and on-site logistics from start to finish.
  • Coordinate with AV, production, venue, catering, and décor vendors to deliver great event experiences.
  • Assist with negotiating and reviewing vendor and venue contracts.
  • Help make sure our events meet applicable health, safety, and other legal requirements.
  • Build accessibility into how we plan and run events.
  • Set up and run virtual and hybrid event platforms, including registration, networking spaces, and tech support.
  • Own event-day production, including presentation slides, run-of-show, screen-sharing, and recording.
  • Support sponsor and partner fulfillment, and maintain strong day-to-day relationships with members and partners.
  • Coordinate speaker and panelist logistics, including scheduling and day-of support.
  • Own event logistics for Board events such as the Annual General Meeting.
  • Track event metrics and prepare post-event summaries.
  • Coordinate volunteers, contractors, and event-day staff.
  • Work with our marketing contractors to promote events.
  • Represent Tech Manitoba at events and in the community.
  • Liaise with the Board of Directors on event-related matters as required.
What you Bring
  • 3-5 years of experience in event planning or event management, ideally with a non-profit, association, or tech-sector organization.
  • Strong organizational, vendor management, and logistics skills.
  • Comfort managing budgets and multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with event management, CRM, or project management tools.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings around event schedules.
