Senior Manager, Canadian Tax Services – BDO Canada
BDO Canada is seeking a Senior Manager for its Canadian Tax team. This role focuses on delivering high‑quality tax support to our clients while driving business development and leading domestic tax projects.
Responsibilities- Evaluate client business processes and policies, advise on tax policy and changes to meet market needs, and develop proactive tax strategies to make business opportunities effective.
- Apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address tax issues relevant to the client’s business.
- Provide both technical and project‑management leadership to team members on domestic tax projects or assignments, ensuring quality‑control standards are maintained.
- Identify and implement strategies for clients to capitalize on business and tax opportunities, including preparing and reviewing tax reorganizations and corporate, trust and estate tax returns.
- Build positive working relationships with clients and provide effective support for engagements.
- Participate in business‑development initiatives and identify new business opportunities with existing clients.
- Train staff and invest in the professional development of the team.

- Understand client industry, challenges, and opportunities; clients describe you as positive, professional, and delivering high‑quality work.
- Identify, recommend and focus on effective service delivery to clients.

- Grow expertise through continuous learning and professional development.
- Completed CPA designation and the In‑Depth Tax Program and/or Master’s in Tax.
- Seven years’ experience in public accounting with a minimum of three years specializing in tax.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant tax legislation, corporate, personal and trust tax planning and compliance.
- Strong teamwork, client‑service orientation and attention to detail.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
