Role Description (two positions)

This is a full‑time on‑site or remote role for an Investment Principal or Associate located in either Alberta or Manitoba. The Investment Principal will be responsible for sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting comprehensive due diligence, and developing relationships with startups and industry stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include designing investment strategies, managing deal negotiations, and supporting portfolio companies with scaling strategies. Collaboration with internal and external partners to achieve both financial and impact‑driven outcomes is a fundamental aspect of this role.

Report writing essential for this role and familiarity with quarterly reporting.

Qualifications
  • Experience in investment evaluation, financial modeling, and market analysis
  • Proven expertise in building relationships with startups, businesses, and stakeholders
  • Strong skills in negotiations, portfolio management, and scaling early‑stage companies
  • Broad understanding of cleantech, sustainability, and climate action technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to identify innovative solutions and manage complex projects
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong leadership ability and experience in a managerial role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or related fields; MBA or advanced degree is preferred
  • Prior experience in venture capital, engineering, or being part of a start up company is an asset
