Key Responsibilities

The Associate Financial Advisor supports one or more Senior Financial Advisors or Planners in serving existing clients and growing the practice.

Key responsibilities include:

Client Relationship Management
  • Support the Senior Advisor in managing existing client relationships.
  • Conduct follow‑ups, service requests, and regular client check‑ins.
  • Participate in client meetings, taking notes, preparing reports, and following up on action items.
  • Assist in onboarding new clients and gathering KYC (Know Your Client) information.
Financial Planning & Advice Support
  • Prepare financial plans, insurance illustrations, and investment recommendations under supervision.
  • Help analyze clients’ financial situations (income, assets, liabilities, protection needs).
  • Research and propose solutions for life insurance, living benefits, investments, and retirement plans.
  • Run financial projections and scenario models.
  • Maintain client files and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Sales & Business Development Support
  • Help identify new business opportunities within the client base (cross‑selling/up‑selling).
  • Support marketing initiatives and client appreciation events.
  • Conduct prospecting and follow‑up communications as directed by the Senior Advisor.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and supporting materials for client meetings.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

Education & Experience:

  • Post‑secondary education (Diploma or Degree) in Business, Finance, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • LLQP License (required) – sale of life, disability, critical illness, and health insurance.
  • Mutual Funds License (IFIC or CSC) – preferred
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) – preferred or in progress, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence in financial planning.
