The Civil Service Superannuation Fund provides investment management services for the 55,000 members of the defined benefit pension plan. A sixteen-person team manages $12.8 billion of client assets invested in a diversified portfolio of public equities, bonds, real estate, private equity, private credit and infrastructure.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with an interest in pursuing an intellectually challenging career in investment management. The position requires a high level of dedication, original thinking, and a drive to outperform.
RoleYou will join a focused, three-person team managing a $2.14 billion US Large Cap equity portfolio. The fund utilizes a fundamental GARP strategy and has outperformed the S&P 500 by 1.3% annually over the last 7 years.
As a key member of the team, the successful candidate will have an unparalleled opportunity to influence investment decisions, develop deep sector expertise, and see their work translate directly into portfolio performance.
Responsibilities- Origination, analysis, and evaluation of investment opportunities
- Preparation and presentation of market intelligence, written investment recommendations, and updates for the Portfolio Manager
- Ongoing monitoring of portfolio holdings with active recommendations for position sizing and exits
- Continuous learning through industry research, management meetings, analyst calls, and industry conferences as needed
- Building and understanding financial models with a focus on drivers of future change
- Undergraduate degree with a CFA designation is preferred (prospective 2026 grads with a willingness to pursue a CFA designation also considered)
- A creative and critical thinker with the ability to see opportunities and threats where others may not
- Genuine curiosity to interpret in-depth information regarding industries and competitive dynamics
- Proficiency with modern research tools including a strong understanding and demonstrated interest in AI applications for gathering, organizing and viewing information
- Exceptional written and oral communications skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task
- A true passion for investing
