Responsibilities
  • Be at the heart of the action—supporting panels before, during, and after hearings.
  • Travel across Manitoba to handle diverse and meaningful cases.
  • Manage complexity with confidence—organizing large volumes of legal documents and hearing materials.
  • Drive excellence in process and decision-making, helping maintain integrity and fairness in every proceeding.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education, diploma, or training in legal assistant studies, court administration, or office administration. An equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience may be considered.
  • Experience interpreting, analyzing, and applying various legislation, regulations, policies, and/or rules of procedure in an adjudicative environment.
  • Excellent written communication skills with experience drafting, reviewing, and editing complex documentation for internal and external stakeholders in compliance with applicable legislation, policies, and rules of procedure.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills with experience managing multiple tasks effectively to meet statutory, departmental, and tribunal‑imposed deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment and effective problem‑solving skills to address non‑routine issues.
  • Experience performing data entry with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring consistently complete, accurate, and error‑free results.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to diverse audiences of varying sizes, including Tribunal members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage confidential and politically sensitive material in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Extensive office experience providing analytical and administrative support in a fast‑paced environment, including support for quasi‑judicial hearings and related functions.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) or compatible programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships and liaise professionally with a broad range of stakeholders, including team members, the public, and legal professionals.
  • Experience managing and processing filing fee transactions, including cash and cheque payments.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working in adjudicative or quasi‑judicial environments, including boards, commissions, legal firms, or justice departments.
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
  • Must be able to provide a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract.
  • Must be willing and able to travel within the City of Winnipeg and throughout the Province of Manitoba with some occasional overnight stays, as required.
  • Must be willing and able to work overtime, as required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment that weighs up to 65 lbs (29.5 kg).
