Duties:The Tribunal Financial Analyst (Financial Analyst) serves as the provincial financial lead for the Municipal Board (MB), LVAC, and DAAB (collectively, the Tribunals). In this role, the Financial Analyst provides expert advice, guidance, and support on all financial matters related to the Tribunals, which operate under more than 27 Provincial Acts. The position is responsible for processing Municipal Board capital finance and borrowing by-law applications, drafting related capital finance orders, and managing adjudication‑related financial transactions, including tracking, processing, and enforcing filing fees, hearing fees, and costs.
The Financial Analyst also supports Tribunal management by preparing authority‑seeking documents, such as Treasury Board submissions, and liaising with the Department of Finance for financial support. In addition, the role advises on strategies to strengthen Tribunal capacity and organizational stability, ensuring that financial policies and resources align with legislative, economic, and administrative requirements while supporting the Tribunals’ adjudicative functions. We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of government organizations – who brings financial experience, along with experience working with legislation and policy.
