Join the Kativik Regional Government as a Public Safety & Fire Prevention Technician, focusing on community fire safety in Nunavik. Champion fire safety education and inspections throughout the region.
The KRG Civil Security Department seeks a Public Safety & Fire Prevention Technician for a permanent role. This position involves delivering fire prevention initiatives, verifying fire protection systems, and participating in emergency planning across northern communities. You’ll also provide training and technical support for municipal firefighters.
Key Responsibilities- Create and implement fire prevention programs within communities
- Educate and enforce applicable fire safety codes
- Conduct inspections and test fire protection systems
- Prepare reports on fire incidents and investigations
- Assist fire brigades in developing intervention plans
- Post-secondary education or certifications in Fire Prevention
- At least two years of applicable experience
- Proficient in reading building plans and construction
- In-depth understanding of Fire Codes and software
- Bilingual communication skills are essential
