Enhance your skills as a Parks and Forestry Co-op Student with the City of Welland. Gain valuable real-world experience while contributing to community projects and initiatives.
This position reports to the Manager of Parks, Forestry, and Cemeteries or Parks Project Coordinator. As a full time student enrolled in Business Administration, Horticulture, Landscape, or Forestry you’ll assist in developing projects that improve park services and administrative support. Experience community engagement and essential tasks that shape Welland's parks.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct inspections and collect GPS data for assets
- Research Tree By-law development and e-bike pilot programs
- Facilitate community engagement and park planning activities
- Maintain records and assist with project administration
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program
- Ability to work independently with instructions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of GIS software is an asset
- Strong organizational and communication skills
