The KRG Civil Security Department is hiring a Public Safety & Fire Prevention Technician for a permanent position dedicated to enhancing community safety.
Your role will involve implementing fire prevention programs, ensuring the effectiveness of fire protection systems, and engaging in emergency planning across northern communities. Furthermore, you'll provide essential training to municipal firefighters, enhancing their operational readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement fire prevention education initiatives
• Educate on and enforce fire safety codes diligently
• Conduct inspections and tests on fire protection systems
• Generate detailed reports for fire incidents and investigations
• Collaborate with fire brigades on intervention strategies
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree or certifications in Fire Prevention
• Two years of relevant experience in the field
• Familiarity with building plans and construction documents
• In-depth knowledge of Fire Codes and software tools
• Bilingual communication skills are required
Support Nunavik communities by leading important fire safety education and proactive measures.
