Develop your skills as a Parks and Forestry Co-op Student with the City of Welland. Contribute to community enhancement projects while gaining hands-on experience in the field.
This student co-op position is suited for those studying Business Administration, Horticulture, Landscape, or Forestry. You will work closely with the Parks management team to create projects enhancing park services and community involvement.
This role offers valuable insights into the operations of Welland's parks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections and gather GPS data for park assets
• Assist in researching Tree By-law and e-bike programs
• Facilitate community engagement and park planning activities
• Maintain accurate records and assist in project administration
• Perform other tasks as directed
Requirements:
• Enrolled in a relevant post-secondary program
• Capable of working independently with guidance
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• GIS software knowledge is an asset
• Strong organizational and communication abilities
