At this time, we will be creating a pool of potential applicants who may be interested in the following locations/positions:

  • Emerson – Hybrid Position – Highway Traffic Inspection Station Officer / Highway Patrol Officer
  • Position will be based out of the Emerson Highway Traffic Inspection Station on PTH 75
  • Headingley
    - Highway Traffic Inspection Station Officer
  • Position will be based out of the Headingley Highway Traffic Inspection Station on the Trans-Canada Highway
  • Other potential locations as listed on the MMCE web page

Successful candidates will commence recruit training in Jan
- Feb 2027

Duties:
  • Enforce provincial and federal transportation safety legislation through proactive highway patrol, inspection, and enforcement activities.
  • Conduct traffic stops of commercial motor vehicles to assess driver, vehicle, and carrier compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform detailed roadside inspections, safety audits, and compliance reviews to identify violations that may pose a risk to public safety.
  • Investigate collisions, safety violations, regulatory offences, and other incidents involving commercial vehicles and commercial drivers.
  • Detect, document, and take enforcement action on offences related to vehicle safety, driver qualifications, hours of service, cargo securement, dangerous goods transportation, weights and dimensions, permits, and licensing requirements.
  • Issue offence notices, violation tickets, inspection reports, out-of-service declarations, and other enforcement documents as authorized by legislation.
  • Gather, analyze, and document evidence; prepare investigative reports; and provide testimony in court and administrative proceedings when required.
  • Work collaboratively with police services, regulatory agencies, industry partners, and other enforcement organizations to enhance transportation safety and regulatory compliance.
