Policy Officer

Position: Full-Time Policy Officer
Lead policy advocacy for First Nations as a Policy and Intergovernmental Relations Officer in Winnipeg, MB. This full-time position emphasizes strategic planning, policy analysis, and robust government relations.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to the Chief of Staff, coordinating policy initiatives and supporting informed decision-making. The role requires a high standard of research and analysis to respond to emerging issues and opportunities within governmental frameworks. Your collaboration across departments is essential in advancing the organization's mandate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the organization’s Strategic Plan

• Analyze the effects of legislation on First Nations

• Foster relationships with government and Indigenous organizations

• Prepare high-level briefing materials for executives

• Monitor and report on organizational performance indicators

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field;
Master’s preferred

• Minimum five years in organizational planning or policy roles

• Experience with Indigenous governance is a plus

• Strong problem-solving and project management skills

• High professionalism and integrity in all dealings
