About the position

Duties
Indigenous Services Canada, strives to provide access to quality health services, improve health outcomes, and support greater control of the health system by First Nations and Inuit.

We are currently looking for a pharmacist to join the regional health team. In both Alberta and Manitoba, the regional team has two distinct focuses for our work: 1. We directly provide health services, by ISC employed nurses and other health professionals, to a number of First Nations and 2. We provide advice and guidance to First Nations that have taken over the delivery of these services with their own nurses and other health professionals.

We are searching for a collaborative and strategic individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment, with a strong focus on quality client service.

The majority of the duties will be completed in an office (and/or hybrid telework environment as per the GoC approach), while dedicated on-sight duties will be required in communities. Specifically, the positions would require at least quarterly travel into remote and isolated communities in both regions for 3-5 days at a time.

While the positions are currently posted as full-time positions, a part-time schedule may be considered upon request for the right candidate, with the right experience and focus. By joining our team, you will have opportunity to provide direct support to health services and community-based programming.
Intent of the process
This process will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates which may be used to staff indeterminate, term, secondment, assignment, deployment or acting appointments. Currently, each region has one full-time vacancy. The intent is to meet the departmental mandate to increase the indigenous representation within ISC. As such, Organizational Needs may be applied and first consideration may be given to candidates self-identifying as belonging to Indigenous peoples.
