Job SummaryThe Ethics & Regulatory Affairs (ERA) Secretary 2 supports the staff who work with ethics and regulatory affairs. This role is central to tracking and maintaining documentation related to training and regulatory requirements through the maintenance of databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems. Their support facilitates efficient study start-up and maintenance activities. By providing excellent general office support they are essential to the smooth and effective operation of the ERA section.
Additionally, the ERA secretary is an essential part of tracking investigator training and their status in the various registries. If inactive or suspended, investigators are not able to enroll or assess study patients (this would be considered a violation).
Qualifications Required:- Grade XII High School Diploma
- Graduate from a recognized office assistant program
- Minimum 2 years previous related experience, preferably in a health-care, research-based setting. Knowledge of clinical research is an asset.
An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills and Abilities- Medical Terminology Test (70% passing benchmark)
- Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills
- Excellent organizational, communication (verbal, listening and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to function as a positive team member in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Strong commitment to accuracy and detail essential.
- Must have satisfactory employment record
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Experience in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Access
- Ability to speak French
