Make a significant impact at Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC) as a Counsellor focused on clients with vision loss. This role emphasizes client-centered counselling and eventful adjustment strategies.
As a Counsellor at VLRC, you'll provide essential support to individuals adjusting to vision loss. You'll conduct assessments, craft tailored counselling interventions, and maintain confidentiality throughout your service. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will empower clients to regain independence and effectively manage their journey through sight loss.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver confidential counselling for vision loss adjustment
• Conduct initial assessments to guide service provision
• Provide advice and information throughout clients' journeys
• Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling interventions
• Document client progress per professional standards
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s in counselling or therapy required
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities
• Excellent interpersonal and motivational interviewing skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in client management technology
