Health Care Aide

Position: Full Time Health Care Aide at Extendicare

As a Health Care Aide reporting to the Director of Health & Wellness, you will provide essential personal care and assist seniors with their daily activities. This role demands strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to quality care, and the ability to respond effectively to changes in client conditions. You will also help prepare nutritious meals and maintain a safe environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the personalized care plan set by supervisors

• Facilitate resident transfers and move-ins

• Observe and report on client care using Extendicare’s tools

• Assist clients with personal hygiene and daily living tasks

• Prepare meals and provide emotional support to residents and families

Requirements:

• Graduate of Health Care Aide program or equivalent

• Experience in community health settings with seniors

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Current CPR and First Aid certification recommended

• Willing to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check
