Patient Transportation Assistant

Become a vital part of patient care at Shared Health as a Patient Transport Assistant in Winnipeg. This in-person role focuses on safely transporting patients and related items within the Health Sciences Centre.

The Patient Transport Assistant reports directly to the Manager of Patient Equipment and Transport Depot at Shared Health. You'll be responsible for transporting patients, maintaining oxygen therapy, and assisting with lifting and transferring patients. This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to handle physical demands while providing essential support to clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely transport patients and necessary medical items

• Clean equipment as directed by professional staff

• Prepare and assist in lifting and transferring patients

• Maintain oxygen therapy as required

• Transport deceased patients to the morgue

Requirements:

• Completed high school education, Manitoba standards

• Pass on-the-job cart and lifting training

• Basic computer skills and CPR certification

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to manage physical demands and multitask
