Vice President Human Resources at Monarch Industries

Responsibilities
  • Essential

    Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensures absolute confidentiality without exception.
  • Manages the full-cycle payroll for all our employees in Canada and the US.
  • Administers employee benefits.
  • Reports on human resource and financial metrics.
  • Prepares and reconciles all payroll earnings, deductions, and accruals for pay period, monthly and annual reporting, including government and taxes (T4, W2, etc.)
  • Manages, monitors, and implements required changes within the payroll and HR systems, whether because of changes in law or legislation, contractual obligations and/or Company policy.
  • Ensures accurate data record keeping in employee databases.
  • Administers the vacation and performance management systems within the salary group.
  • Actively and continuously pursues improvement in processes and execution for improved financial results while enhancing the employment experience throughout the organization.
  • Maintains the electronic and physical employee files.
  • Provides leadership within the payroll and related departments.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Education
  • Certification as a Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation and working towards Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP).
  • Post-secondary education in compensation and benefits, and accounting are considered an asset.
Skills and Experience
  • Ability to maintain strict confidence.
  • Payroll and collective agreement interpretation experience in a multi-union workplace
  • Highly analytical approach while keeping the overall goals in perspective.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in payroll administration, attaining increased responsibility and scope.
  • Exceptional computer skills within various applications, including ERP, payroll systems, and Excel.
  • Proven ability to learn new systems, and work collaboratively to improve existing systems.
  • Experience with Payworks preferred.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Experience working under pressure with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
