reporting to the director of human resource, the human resource generalist will be responsible for providing guidance onhr policies, employee relations, performance management, and workplace issues while fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.
key responsibilities:- primary contact for handling employee inquiries and workplace concerns while maintaining accurate documentation.
- investigate employee complaints, grievances and workplace conflicts in a fair, timely and confidential manner.
- ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- support managers in performance improvement plans(pips).
- monitor and ensure employee performance reviews are scheduled and in compliance with organization policies and guidelines.
- coordinate organizations performance review process with supervisors.
- guide employees with performance review process andcareer development.
- create employee job descriptions and job postings.
- stay up to date with current recruiting methods.
- must have extensive knowledge of recruitment strategies and assist with all aspects of recruitment including offboarding when needed.
- promote employee engagement and retention initiatives.
completion ofpost-secondary education with a focus in human resources management or arelated discipline is required.
- 2- 3 years related experience.
- skilled in conflict resolution and respectful communication.
- familiar with hr databases,applicant tracking systems and candidate management systems.
- knowledge of employment standards, labour law, workplace safety and health and human rights.
- strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail.
- ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- excellent oral and written communication skills.
- strong proficiency inmicrosoft office, word processing (ms word), spreadsheets (excel), e-mail(outlook) and internet.
- knowledge of the childand family services (cfs) sector and legislation an asset but not mandatory.
- demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of indigenous perspectives, first nations culture and traditional philosophies.
- must have a valid class 5driver’s license and access to a vehicle and acceptable driver’s abstract are a condition of employment.
- must have clear criminal record (vulnerable sector check), child and adult abuse registry check,and prior contact check.
