The People & Culture Advisor partners with leaders and employees to foster an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing workplace culture. As a trusted advisor, this role supports the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, employee relations, accommodations and return-to-work processes, compensation initiatives, policy development, and employee retention.
The successful candidate champions diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all people practices, ensuring fair and equitable employee experiences. They also oversee the effective management of employee information, provide guidance on People & Culture programs and policies, and leverage HR data and insights to enhance organizational effectiveness and employee well-being.
This role plays a key part in creating a positive employee experience that aligns with organizational values, strategic priorities, and legislative requirements.
Areas of Responsibility Recruitment and Onboarding (45%)- Conduct full-cycle recruitment of all approved positions
- Collaborate with the Senior People & Culture Advisor to conduct job analysis to identify required knowledge, skills, abilities and other attributes for roles being posted
- Lead the development, implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of the Foundation's values-aligned onboarding program, ensuring a welcoming, engaging, and consistent onboarding experience for all new employees.
- Own the evaluation of onboarding effectiveness by establishing and administering feedback mechanisms, conducting regular employee check-ins throughout the probationary period, assessing integration and engagement outcomes, and recommending improvements to enhance the onboarding experience.
- Advise hiring managers on equitable compensation decision making for new hires and existing employees
- Lead the application of fair, transparent recruitment practices by ensuring hiring processes comply with applicable legislation, policies, and the Foundation's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and recruitment standards for assigned recruitments
- Ensure necessary new employee documentation is shared with payroll Act as a key point of collaboration between People & Culture and Payroll, ensuring the accurate and timely exchange of employee information to support onboarding, payroll processing, benefits administration, and employee record management.
- Conduct exit interviews and create a detailed report based on the interviews for managers
- Work closely with the Senior People & Culture Advisor to identify opportunities and implement initiatives that strengthen the engagement, development, and retention of non-managerial employees.
- Respond to staff inquiries related to payroll, benefits and pension, liaising with the payroll team as required.
