We currently have an opportunity with our Information Technology (IT) team for a Junior Systems Administrator at our Steinbach office. Being a customer focused and technically detailed Junior Systems Administrator, you will directly report to the Lead Systems Administrator and will work closely with members of the IT team. At Barkman, the IT team is responsible for providing user support alongside managing the server, storage, network, and endpoint infrastructure and services at four locations in three provinces.

In this role, you would be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Providing IT support to end users in-person, or by phone, email, or remote system access
  • Support and management of server and network infrastructure
  • Support and management of end user hardware including workstations, mobile devices, and printers
  • Performing installs, moves, add-ons and changes to network and system access for end users
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosis of IT related issues
  • Assisting with end user training
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

To qualify for this role, you will have:

  • 1 year of work experience in IT or post‑secondary education in Information Technology
  • Excellent verbal, written and personal presentation skills
  • Positive attitude with an eagerness to learn
  • The ability to troubleshoot and investigate IT related issues
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and early mornings based on software upgrades or emergency technical support
  • A valid driver’s license
