In this role, the analyst supports day‑to‑day network operations by responding to user issues, documenting incidents, performing basic configuration tasks, and helping maintain network security and uptime under the guidance of senior staff. You will be first‑line technical support to users by diagnosing and resolving common hardware, software, and access‑related issues. The analyst assists with password resets, application support, device setup, and basic troubleshooting while accurately documenting and escalating more complex problems when needed.
Working alongside the IT team, you will gain practical experience in hardware support, networking, and end‑user troubleshooting in a real‑world environment. How You Will Be Making An Impact
- Maintain network security and uptime with the guidance of senior staff
- First line support to users regarding access‑related issues, and resolving hardware and software issues
- Support users with troubleshooting techniques and escalating where required
- Install and configure operating systems, software, and security updates
- Perform basic virus and malware removal
- Configure and troubleshoot printers, scanners, and other hardware
- Install, terminate, label, and test network cabling (Ethernet and fiber‑optic)
- Assist with setting up network equipment including switches, routers, and wireless access points
- Replace and upgrade hardware components in devices such as servers and printers
- Create and update documentation for system setups, network layouts, and procedures
- Network devices, servers, and printers installed and functioning correctly
- Tasks completed accurately, on time, and according to plan
- Clear communication with the IT team and end users
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to learn new technologies
- Currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Basic understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking concepts
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry equipment as required
- Previous co‑op, lab, or personal experience with IT support or networking is an asset
