Systems Administrator (Infrastructure Systems Specialist)The Systems Administrator will maintain and improve network and communications technology systems that allow us to collaborate and effectively serve our worldwide client base. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, team player, critical thinker, and problem solver with a customer first approach. CEL expects the successful candidate to bring forward the continuous improvement mindset required to identify how we can do things better.
REPORTING TO: CFO
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one of the following areas:
- Hyperconverged Infrastructure / Storage
- Microsoft Server / Active Directory
- End User Device Management (Intune / SCCM, Automox)
- Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Networking (On-premises and Cloud)
- Forti Gate Firewalls
- Ubiquiti Uni Fi Networking and/or Protect
- Microsoft 365
- Veeam Backup
- Providing tier 2 to support and working along with our systems analysts to help troubleshoot user issues
- Performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all systems and resources, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
- Supporting and administrating systems including Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, SQL Server, Windows Server, VPN, Fortinet Firewalls, Ubiquiti Uni Fi, and Teams phone systems
- Strong skills in TCP/IP Networking, network topology and firewalled environments
- Assisting with technology planning through the ongoing research of available solutions that will reduce costs and improve productivity
- Preparing and maintaining IT documentation related to policies, systems, and networks, including technology topology maps
- Providing periodic on-call support during non-business hours & weekend / evening work to perform system tasks
KEY ATTRIBUTES
- Ability to think critically and solve problems in an efficient and timely manner
- Ability to work independently or effectively in a team is a must
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated proficiency with planning and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Continuous learner who seeks out knowledge with a commitment to data accuracy and system integrity
- 4+ years of experience in a System Administrator or equivalent role
- Completion of an IT-related diploma or degree or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of Project Management principles and ITIL framework
- Technology Certifications are an asset
- Experience in writing Python, Power Shell scripts to automate various tasks
- Experience with Help Desk and Vulnerability management software
Experience with Network Security and Cybersecurity Frameworks CIS, NIST, ISO - Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
